Book Review-"PERSEPOLIS-THE STORY OF A CHILDHOOD"

The comics "Persepolis" published in June 2004. The author is Marjane Satrapi was born in 1969 in Rasht. This comic draws and describes the author's memoir of growing up in Iran during the Islamic Revolution. Marjane's family, such as her mother, father, and uncle often attend political protests and support revolutionaries when they can. Her story details the impact of war and religious extremism on Iranians, especially women. The layout of this graphic novel is super interesting and touching but also makes readers feel sad and sorry. As we live in the 21 century, we do not experience the influence of war. We do not have the experience to lose families and friends, and food shortage during the war. Overall, I highly recommend this book. The author not only states the cruelty of the war for the people but also informs us of the history of Iran when they during the Islamic Revolution. We should cherish our present life.
