The Daley Plaza Farmers Market located Loop of
Chicago. The market opens every Thursday from May 9 to October 24 and it offers
local produce from Chicago farmers, stores and hand made. Such as fresh fruits,
vegetables, and baked goods, etc. This is not my first time shopping in this
local farmer's market. Comparing to the first time in July, this time was fewer
vendors and people. Even it was not crowded than before, there still had people
who come and go. People in the market as honeybees were buzzing around from
flower to flower, happily and enjoyably. The section of the colorful flower
vendors made me stop by. I saw people earnestly thought and selected flowers
which much better decorated at their home, and I decided to select one, too. I
selected the tall, thin and has pink trumpet-shaped flowers that open along the
stalk of the plant to decorate my dinner table. I ask the flower seller,
"What is the name of the flowers?" “Gladiolus! Your pink gladiolus.
It is beautiful when they are all open up!" The flower seller smiled. I
continued, "It seems fewer types of flowers than July." "Yes,
winter is coming soon and some of the plants no longer available in winter. You
should enjoy the flowers as soon as you can." he nodded. I smiled and took
over the gladiolus which had cut and packed, then I said goodbye to him. At
home, I felt warmer when the gladiolus decorates in the cool of the ending
fall.
